We recommend using Chinese Yixing (purple clay) or porcelain tea ware. Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water. Fill the teapot 1/4 to 1/3 full with tea leaves, or 2 grams of tea leaves for every 150ml of water if you are not using Yixing teapot. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 100°c (212°F) for 1 minute for the first and second brewing. Gradually increase steeping time for subsequent brewing.

Dong Ding oolong tea is grown in Dong Ding Mountain, in Nantou county, Taiwan. Dong Ding means "Frozen Summit." The altitude is 700-1000 meters. The reasons for the tea's strong and sweet taste can be mostly attributed to its climatic and geographical factors. Lugu town, the main producing area for Dong Ding Oolong, has annual average temperature of 22℃ and annual rainfall of 2200mm. The place has high atmospheric humidity and is always enshrouded in clouds and mists. The tea garden enjoys very strong sunshine in the morning, but is surprisingly completely covered by fog in the afternoon. The high altitude, dense forest and good soil create favourable growing conditions for tea trees.
